
Death Valley National Park and Owens Valley are included in an updated wind advisory released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 10:52 p.m. The advisory is in effect until Thursday, Mar. 13 at 11 p.m.
“South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected,” the NWS Las Vegas NV said. “Gusty winds will develop ahead of an approaching storm system this afternoon and persist into Thursday afternoon before easing after sunset. Strong winds may impact high profile vehicles on US-395 and motorists within Death Valley National Park.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” according to the NWS. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
