Route set for Thursday’s procession for fallen San Bernardino County deputy – Press Enterprise

The procession escorting the body of San Bernardino County sheriff’s Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. to the funeral services in Ontario will start about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, with the public invited to pay its respects by lining portions of the route.

The procession will start at the mortuary, in the 1100 block of E. Highland Avenue.

It will travel west on Highland Avenue, north on Valencia Avenue, west on 30th Street, west on the 210 Freeway, south on the 15 Freeway, west on the 10 Freeway, south on Vineyard Avenue and east on East Convention Center Way.

The services at the Ontario Convention Center are limited to family members, friends and invited guests. They are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will be live-streamed on the sheriff’s YouTube channel at @SanBernardinoSheriff.

Cuevas, 36, died in a traffic collision during the pursuit of a reported stolen car in Victorville. He graduated from Carter High in Rialto and lived in Fontana.

The driver being chased, Ryan Duane Turner Jr., 22, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He is due back in court on May 12.
