Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the ‘crypto exchange’ company FTX, has been found guilty of all seven charges against him and faces up to 115 years in prison, Joel Khalili and Lily Hay Newman report for WIRED. Bankman-Fried was accused of funneling money from the exchange’s customers into another company of his to fund his own debt, trading and his personal life. Jordan Estes, a former US prosecutor and partner at law firm Kramer Levin, told WIRED that Bankman-Fried’s conviction sent “a message to the crypto industry that fraud and wheeling-and-dealing is not to be tolerated.”
